Structure and Organisation

The work of the IJC is divided between two departments within the organisation. The Monitoring and Implementation Department assists, advises and monitors the judiciary and the prosecution with regard to appointment, discipline, and ongoing comprehensive review of all judges and prosecutors. The Plans and Policy Department is responsible for co-ordinating the strategic implementation of judicial reform and rule of law projects with domestic institutions and other domestic and international bodies, including legislative reform, training and institutional development of the judiciary.

The IJC has around 30 professional staff, including both national and international lawyers. While most of the IJC staff work in its headquarters in Sarajevo, it has field offices in Banja Luka, Bihac, Mostar, Tuzla, Brcko and Sarajevo. Take a look at  the Organizational Chart .

The IJC is funded jointly by the European Union and the United States. It reports directly to the High Representative.
