Ivanic: The only way out is Terzic’s resignation and election of new CoM

RHB, PINK, BHT1, FTV, Oslobodjenje pg 5 ‘The only solution is Terzic’s resignation’ by Fena, Dnevni Avaz pg 2 ‘Ivanic: The only way out is for Terzic to resign’ by Srna, Dnevni list pg 3 ‘Ivanic proposes new election of the CoM’ by Ivica Glibusic, Nezavisne novine pg 3 ‘Ivanic: Only solution is Terzic’s resignation’ – BiH Foreign Minister in resignation, Mladen Ivanic, stated on Saturday that the only solution to resolve the crisis in the functioning of the Council of Ministers is for the Chair, Adnan Terzic, to file resignation, which would lead to election of new CoM. Ivanic added he expects the situation to be finally resolved at the meeting of parties in Sarajevo on Monday [27 June]. Only other solution for Ivanic is that Terzic nominates new Foreign Minister and end the crisis in the CoM without PDP, however he adds this is least likely as Terzic would not be able to get the support of the parliamentary majority. Commenting Sulejman Tihic’s statement that the solution will be reached when SDS leader, Dragan Covic, is present, Ivanic said he doesn’t believe this is possible as SDS clearly said it would not support non-party candidates and will not participate CoM without PDP.

Terzic: Solution is appointment of experts from RS to CoM

BHT1, Hayat, Dnevni Avaz pg 2 ‘To fill CoM with the experts from RS’ by Srna – The Chair of the Council of Ministers, Adnan Terzic, believes that the crisis in the functioning of the state government can be resolved by appointing the CoM vacant ministerial positions of Communications/Transport Minister and Foreign Minister with expects from RS. Asked by journalists whether this plan has support by the parliamentary majority, Terzic responds: “Not today…But, we will see. There is another round of talks before us.” CoM Chair added he doesn’t feel responsible for the crisis in the CoM.

Tihic: This is the biggest crisis in state authorities to date

Dnevni Avaz pg 2 ‘This is the biggest crisis in the state authorities to date’, mentioned on cover, by A. Malagic – Following the meeting of ruling political parties and BiH Presidency held in Doboj on Friday which failed to resolve the issues in functioning of the BiH Council of Ministers, the member of the Presidency Sulejman Tihic states for DA that this is the biggest crisis in the state authorities to date. He also explains that attendees of the meeting tried to entirely blame CoM Chair Adnan Terzic for the crisis adding “it is clear to everybody that the cause was the Serb side, i.e. Minister [Mladen] Ivanic.” Tihic reiterates that SDA supports Terzic’s decisions to accept Ivanic’s resignation tendered in December last year, adding Foreign Minister was blocking reforms since the last year’s NATO Summit in Istanbul. “I think that the current crisis in the state authorities is bigger than previous ones. We all saw in Doboj that Terzic and Ivanic neither can nor want to continue working together, which makes the situation more complicated. According to Ivanic, PDP will not take part in authorities without him. At the same time, SDS Vice President [Mladen Bosic] says SDS will not participate authorities without PDP. That is vicious circle without an exit,” says Tihic adding RS parties have not showed readiness to find a solution.

Vukovic, Nezavisne novine pg 3 ‘Ivanic: Only solution is Terzic’s resignation’ – SNSD Secretary General, Igor Radojicic, stated at the press conference on Saturday that the best solution for the current crisis in the state authorities would be for entire CoM to resign and than organize the new elections. Radojicic noted that CoM has not held session for long time and even those held previously passed in the disagreement of Ministers.

Safet Halilovic: If crisis not solved, tragic consequences for BiH

Dnevni list pg 3 ‘Ivanic proposes new election of the CoM’ by Ivica Glibusic – Leader of the Party for BiH, Safet Halilovic, who also attended the meeting held in Doboj, stated for DL that the obstacle in resolving the crisis is the RS side. “HDZ should propose its candidate for the Deputy Minister and in some way that would also make the problem functionally smaller. I think it is up to the institutions and political parties to find the final solution for the CoM in the next few days. If that doesn’t happen, tragic consequences are certain for BiH as practically nothing serious could be done until next elections,” commented Halilovic adding it is up to SDS to make a move that would create a space for solution.

Lagumdzija: SDS soon to be stronger ever since Karadzic left

Nezavisne novine pgs 8-9 ‘Terzic is like second hand cheater’, mentioned on cover, by Almedin Sisic – In two-page long interview to NN, the SDP leader Zlatko Lagumdzija slams the speech of the BiH Prime Minister, Adnan Terzic, delivered before the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, for attacking the previous government [lead by Lagumdzija] for a number of issues in BiH. In addition, Lagumdzija is extremely critical of current authorities and the High Representative, Paddy Ashdown, accusing him of playing large part in creating this situation in the country. Commenting to the current crisis in the authorities, Lagumdzija says: “In fall, SDS and [Dragan] Cavic will completely rule the BiH and RS institutions, after getting ride of [Mladen] Ivanic and PDP. They will keep [Adnan] Terzic as a marionette… as he will be in [Cavic’s] power and he will be deciding whether Terzic should leave or stay… SDS will now come to the position to be stronger than even since Radovan Karadzic fled in the forest. International Community will most probably apply pressure against Cavic and SDS. It is to be expected that Cavic will agree to some things upon demand of outgoing Ashdown. That will be ideal opportunity for Cavic, because Ashdown will want to make any kind of deal because hid departure to be able to call it a success!”

DL op-ed on crisis in CoM

Otherwise, BiH will stay in the vicious circle without exit,” reads the editorial.
