Brcko Supervisor Dr Raffi Gregorian today issued a Supervisory Order amending the Supervisory Order of March 23, 2007 in the part that relates to urban planning.

The March 2007 order encouraged the Mayor to appoint a working group with the mandate to prepare a new law that would more efficiently regulate urban planning and construction in the District.

The working group developed a new law that regulates the matter of issuing urban approvals in cases when there are no detailed spatial planning documents in a manner technically different than in the March 2007 Order although the principle is the same.  The Assembly adopted the law on June 25, 2008.

In order to avoid legal uncertainty over any possible inconsistency between the Supervisory order of March 2007 and the new law in cases of issuing urban approvals for areas that are not covered with detailed spatial planning documents, the Supervisor deemed it appropriate to amend his Supervisory Order in the relevant part.

The Supervisor commends the work of the working group and Brcko District institutions which have greatly contributed to a modern law designed to help the authorities resolve accumulated problems in the area of urban planning and construction.
