Brcko Supervisor Extends the Appointment of the Director of the District Revenue Agency

Brcko Supervisor Susan Johnson today again extended the appointment of Mr. Osman Osmanovic to the position of the Director of the District Revenue Agency with effect from January 1, 2006 , to carry out his duties in accordance with the Statute and the laws of the Brcko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Mr. Osman Osmanovic was first appointed as Head of the District Revenue Agency by Addendum to the Supervisory Order on the Appointment of Members of the Interim Government of the Brcko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina of May 26, 2000. His appointment has been extended, pending reorganization of the District’s financial management bodies.  His last term expired on December 31, 2005.

In light of the recommendations of the professional consultancy firm Deloitte regarding restructuring of the Brcko District’s financial management system, contained in its report of October 20, 2004, that the District Revenue Agency, the Department of Budget and Finance and the Tax Administration Office be reorganized, the Supervisor believes that a vacancy in the position of the Director of the District Revenue Agency would at this point be disruptive to the continuity of operations and complicate the conduct of the expert analysis and the implementation of its recommendations.

Mr. Osmaniovic’s re-appointment is valid until the District Government adopts professional, independent recommendations for the future structure of the District Revenue Agency and implements such recommendations, or until June 30, 2006, whichever is sooner.
