Distinguished presidents of several courts, distinguished deputy ministers, distinguished judges and prosecutors, distinguished professors, distinguished representatives of the State and Entity Governments, ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Brcko district and the Symposium on the Law on Criminal Procedure

There have been numerous incorrect and incomplete public statements and accusations made with respect to the Brcko District and its customs revenues and taxes. We provide the following clarification of several frequent misconceptions.

Compared with the rest of Europe, Bosnia and Herzegovina has a rather small economy. Unless we have a "single economic space" in Bosnia and Herzegovina, there is little chance that the Federation, or Republika Srpska, will have an economic future – and no chance at all for Brcko District

Those of you who were in this room Friday saw the impressive proposals of the companies bidding for the opportunity to reconstruct Arizona Market. We will be turning an old problem – the lack of infrastructure – into a real commercial opportunity.

It is really a pleasure to be here today, and to thank the Government of Italy, the port personnel, and all those people who have worked to restore the cranes, railway tracks and other facilities for the port of Brcko. This is certainly an important moment in the reconstruction of the infrastructure of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

I want to inform you that the Brcko District Privatisation Office, on Friday last week, has published the tender announcements for the first package of 6 enterprises that will be privatised by the Brcko District through a public tender procedure
