Brčko is on the right track, but success will depend on the timely completion of the EBRD and World Bank infrastructure projects and the focused expenditure of budget funds to the benefit of the community as a whole, said the Principal Deputy High Representative and Brčko Supervisor, Michael Scanlan.

Brčko is making important progress on infrastructure development and legislation that promotes good governance and transparency, and that is to be applauded.

Positive changes are underway in Brčko, be it on infrastructure, business investment, and improved public services. Indeed, over the last 18 months, important laws have been adopted and steps taken to enhance transparency and good governance.

Continued progress on infrastructure development, adopting laws imposing transparency on governance, and expanding initiatives to fight corruption will attract business investment to the District and create good private-sector jobs.

Brčko Supervisor Michael Scanlan welcomes the adoption of the Law on the Prevention of Conflict of Interest in the Institutions of Brčko District of BiH.
