1. I took over as High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) on 31 January 2006. In my first address to the citizens I made it clear that, building on the work of my predecessor, my aim during my term of office would be to help BiH intensify its transformation into a normal and peaceful country occupying its rightful place in Europe.
