The Office of the High Representative is appalled at reports of an attack on two Croatian journalists which took place yesterday, 7 May 1999 in west Mostar. Two journalists from the Rijeka daily Novi list say they were taken away from the Hotel Ero in town centre, brutally beaten and then ordered to leave the country under threat of death.

Danas se Jacques Paul Klein, prvi zamjenik visokog predstavnika, sastao sa ministrima unutarnjih poslova i njihovim zamjenicima iz oba entiteta, kao i iz svih kantona u Federaciji, kako bi razgovarao o tehničkim detaljima i detaljima vezanim za provedbu nove zajedničke vozačke dozvole.

Visoki predstavnik Carlos Westendorp je razriješio dužnosti Ferida Hodžića, ministra unutarnjih poslova Tuzlansko-podrinjskog kantona (TPK, Kanton 3) zbog nepodržavanja vladavine zakona i neizvršavanja svojih dužnosti. Ova odluka stupa na snagu odmah.

OHR toplo pozdravlja jučerašnju jednoglasnu odluku Vijeća ministara o prestanku primjene preferencijalnog carinskog tretmana na uvoz iz Republike Hrvatske i Savezne Republike Jugoslavije.
