High Representative Christian Schwarz-Schilling believes that there are better days ahead for decertified police officers.In his interview for «Dnevni Avaz», he pointed out that he found a positive climate in the Security Council, before which he spoke yesterday.
Unanimous support
– I received unanimous support of the ambassadors of the Security Council who believe that a review of decertified police officers must be made in a just way and in accordance with the UN Charter on Human Rights – the High Representative said.
Asked when the review process might begin, he said it was up to Security Council bodies.
– There is a clear picture now that the Council supports this process. I did not hear negative views about this issue from any of the members of this body – Schilling emphasizes.
He announced that he will discuss the details of this process with officials of the United Nations.
Speaking about his address to the Security Council, he points out that the ambassadors fully supported his views and those of the Prime Minister, Adnan Terzić.
– I am very satisfied with the cooperation between OHR and BiH authorities. It has been emphasized that the program we developed should be realized and they expressed their readiness to help with it – the High Representative said.

What are the consequences?
We also discussed the changes to the BiH Constitution. All ambassadors of the member countries to the UN Security Council, who addressed the meeting, supported the changes to the BiH constitution. These changes are considered to be the key event leading to the full independence of BiH. Everyone expects their approval in the BiH Parliament.
If this does not happen, the representatives must know what the stakes are. The world expects these changes to be adopted. Those who are blocking these reforms must know what the consequences are – Schwarz-Schilling said.
He added that he expected the BiH Parliament representatives not to block the progress of our country to full independence:

Schwarz-Schilling says that the Security Council pointed out once again that the question of war crime indictees who are still at large must be resolved. He makes it clear, though, that this obligation is viewed in the regional context, not only as an obligation of BiH.
