Sarajevo

The Malaysian delegation, led by the Prime Minister Mahatyr Mohamed visited B&H. They met the Chairman of the B&H Presidency, Alija Izetbegovic and delivered him a cheque on

DM 200 000 of aid for returnees in Srebrenica. They discussed the future co-operation between the two countries. Zeljka Lekic produced the report.

Sarajevo

The Interim Election Commission adopted new annexes to election rules, on the basis of which the B&H House of Peoples and Federation House of Peoples will be formed. Reported by Vedran Persic.

Sarajevo

The Sarajevo Canton Court continued trial to Osman Hadzic and Meho Ibrisevic, who were accused of murder of the family Ristovic in July 1992 in Sarajevo, Amarildo Gutic reported.

Zenica

Prisoners in KPD Zenica stopped the rebellion which started last week. They demanded amnesty and reduction of sentences. The Federation Prime Minister, Edhem Bicakcic and the Federation Minister of Justice, Barisa Colak met the KPD management. According to Mr. Bicakcic, individual amnesties for prisoners will be proposed. Reported by Nela Kacmarcik.

World

The Stability Pact Co-ordinator, Bodo Hombach visited Belgrade today. The EU announced urgent joining of FRY to the Stability Pact.

The UN Secretary General, Kofi Anan met the Israeli Prime Minister, Ehud Barak. There were no concrete results after the meeting.

The US President, Bill Clinton signed an agreement on normalisation of trade with China.

Banja Luka

The RS Government organised a session in Banja Luka today. They discussed possibility of signing a new agreement on special and parallel relations with Yugoslavia. The Government replaced the RS Minister of Energy and Mining, Vladimir Dokic. They approved privatisation programmes for 7 companies in the RS, Tatjana Lajsic reported.

Sarajevo

The II International Conference on reform of the B&H banking system took place in Sarajevo. If privatisation of state banks is not carried out soon, B&H banks might loose foreign partners, interested in co-operation and investments – was the conclusion after the Conference. Mostar

The EU Council for General Affairs adopted a new preferential regime for import of B&H goods to EU countries. The decision will become effective in the middle of October. The Federation Chamber of Commerce feels that conditions should be provided for increase of export, Misijana Brkic reported.

Sarajevo

The RS Prime Minister, Milorad Dodik met the Chairman of the B&H Council of Ministers, Spasoje Tusevljak at the Sarajevo airport. According to Mr. Tusevljak, they discussed the issue of reform implementation in B&H. Reported by Damir Kaletovic.

Tuzla

A demobilised soldier of the B&H Army, Halil Coric was evicted from a flat 20 days ago. At the moment, he lives with his family in a tent in front of his former flat, without basic living conditions. Adis Nisic produced the report.

Sarajevo

Citizens of Saraj Polje settlement in Sarajevo are in a very difficult situation. Their flats have not been reconstructed yet, 5 years after signing of the Dayton Peace Accords, Svjetlana Celic reported.
