The Russian Foreign Minister, Igor Ivanov congratulated Kostunica for the election victory in behalf of the Russian President. The Yugoslav Constitutional Court recognised Kostunica’s victory in the September elections. Opposition has been celebrating victory in the streets of Belgrade, Danica Ilic reported.

The RS Assembly organised an urgent session, in order to discuss changes in the Law on pension and invalid insurance. The Assembly called for Yugoslav institutions to implement the election results. They also called for the International Community to remove sanctions against FRY. Reported by Tatjana Lajsic.

“I believe that B&H and Yugoslavia should establish diplomatic relations, after establishment of democratic government in FRY. I have to warn you that B&H will now get a competitor in the battle for international aid in the Balkans, especially at the Stability Pact”, the High Representative, Wolfgang Petritsch said.

The B&H Union will actively participate in the pre-election campaign, and call for their members to vote for parties with the best social or economic programmes. “What I am seeking from the Union is to motivate people to vote in the elections”, the Head of the OSCE Mission, Robert Barry said. The Central Bank Governor, Peter Nicholl visited Banja Luka today. Mr. Nicholl emphasised urgency of adopting laws on transactions and importance of privatisation in the RS. “According to the long-term plan of the World Bank, about $ 300 million should be invested in B&H”, Mr. Nicholl said. However, he warned that B&H might loose this aid, unless entity governments agree on the issue soon.

The High Representative, Wolfgang Petritsch imposed the decision on integration of Zepce municipality, abolishing in this way institutions of the former Croat republic Herceg Bosna. “By this decision, the High Representative sent a clear message to everyone that parallel institutions cannot exist in B&H”, the OHR Spokesman, Oleg Milisic said.
