BHT1 by Boris Grubesic – The trial in case of eleven former members of RS Army indicted for genocide in Srebrenica will commence on May 4 before the Court of BiH. Petar Mitrovic, Milos Stupar, Milenko Trifunovic, Brane Dzinic, Aleksandar Radovanovic, Slobodan Jakovljevic, Miladin Stevanovic, Velibor Maksimovic, Dragisa Zivanovic, Branislav Medan and Milovan Matic are indicted for participating in the massacre of more than one thousand Bosniak men in the warehouse of the farming cooperative in Kravica, in July 1995. On Friday, Prosecutor’s Office announced that during the trial it would interrogate 45 witnesses and two experts, and present the evidences and statements obtained during the trials before the ICTY afterwards. The BiH Prosecutor Ibro Bulic stated that his office would need 15 days only to interrogate witnesses. FTV by Sinan Saric – On the other hand, defence attorneys opposed such way of proving the guilt of their clients, and announced that they would demand to cross-examine those ICTY convicts whose statements would be used. Six out of eleven defence attorneys have already announced that they would request psychiatrists’ opinion on the mental health of their clients. Due to the fact that defence attorneys are not adequately prepared for the beginning of the trial, the Trial Chamber of the Court of BiH presided by Hilmo Vucinic decided that the main court hearing in this case would start on May 4. SCG continued its presentation before the ICJ; Stojanovic: fight for territories the main reason for ‘civil war’ in BiH

 

BHT1by Dzenita Zirdum, Laura Bosnjak – Introductory presentation of the SCG legal team, in the case of BiH lawsuit against SCG for aggression and genocide, continued before the International Court of Justice [ICJ] in The Hague on Friday. Head of SCG legal team Radoslav Stojanovic said that the conflict in BiH was a civil war, in which all three major national groups participated. “The nature of war in BiH was not defined in the Dayton Peace Agreement, but the Agreement does conclude that it was a ‘tragic event’. For me, it is the best definition of the war in BiH”, stated Stojanovic. FTV by Zeljko Tica – The beginning of the war was prepared in advance and expected, since all three sides armed themselves, stated Stojanovic, adding that all three peoples had the support from outside BiH. American journalist Gutman respond on allegations of SCG legal team: More than thousand people were killed in Omarska

Former Assistant Commander of the Zvornik Police Asim Alic testified that former commander of “Red Berettas” Unit Milorad Ulemek Legija was arrested in Zvornik in April 1992. Alic explained that, when arrested, Legija and three other persons were in camouflage uniforms, armed with automatic guns, pistols, and knifes; they had numerous different identification documents on them, including the one issued by the Serb Cetnik’s movement.  FTV carried similar report. ICTY fined Rebic and Marijacic with 15,000 Euro each for the contempt of the Court

RHB – ICTY found journalist Ivica Marijacic and Markica Rebic guilty on charges that they had intentionally revealed the identity of protected witness in a trail before ICTY thus putting the witness into jeopardy in case of ICTY indictee Croat general Tihomir Blaskic. RTRS By Sinisa Mihajlovic – RS Interior Minister Stanislav Cadjo rejected accusations on politicization of police that RS President Dragan Cavic brought on Thursday. Cadjo said that these accusations present pressure on work of RS MoI with purpose to stop and disable fight against organized crime and corruption. Cadjo did not want to comment statement of Banja Luka Public Security Centre [PSC] in which they asked RS Police Director, MoI and BiH Prosecutor’s Office to give explanation regarding this issue and establishment of special commission due to frequent destroy of RS police reputation. Cavic stressed that he wants an apology from Nezavisne Novine for publishing the article on alleged investigation against SDS high officials, otherwise he will file a lawsuit against them. Announcement from Cavic’s office states that it seems that the article in NN was prepared by RS MoI Cadjo and NN staff, adding thatSDS believes that these writings are harangue with clear aim. According to NN, high SDS officials Dragan Cavic, Dusan Stojcic, Pero Bukejlovic, Dusan Kos, Dragomir Andan and many others were meeting secretly with people from criminal circles on several locations in Banja Luka area. RTRS By Sinisa Mihajlovic – After RS President Dragan Cavic stressed that he wants an apology from Nezavisne Novine for publishing the article on alleged investigation against SDS high officials, otherwise he will file a lawsuit against them, NN said they received threats, adding that they only published documents of BiH Prosecutor’s Office, which is conducting the investigation. “We are shocked and astonished with RS President’s Office press release. We get impression that it is about threats but not by court but by some other means. We received threats by letters. We informed police. We will see whether police will act in following period”, said Aleksandar Sekulic, editor of NN. According to NN, the controversial information came from BiH and foreign intelligence and EUFOR. BiH Prosecutor’s Office has not still confirmed the information. Nezavisne Novine Director Zeljko Kopanja said that goal of his papers is to clear up crime and corruption in RS. NN announced new articles on involvement of individuals from SDS and police in illegal businesses with criminal circles.

Hayat By ATV – RS National Assembly’s Board member Velimir Sakan, who has been collecting the relevant information from all institutions regarding this issue, said that at moment he has no information on involvement of RS Police Director Dragomir Andan in any criminal activity. Sakan added that in the case Andan was involved that the relevant institutions should deal with it. The information on Andan’s involvement was allegedly provided by EUFOR, but in an interview for ATV, EUFOR’s spokesperson Jem Thomas stated that they have been conducting the investigation in entire BIH adding that he couldn’t comment some intelligence operations. RS Minister of Interior Stanislav Cadjo, on the other hand, has stated that any his alleged connection with the published articles is absurd. He denied any remarks on his attempts to improve the situation in RS MoI commenting all this as a political pressure. BiH HoP: dispute over law on HVO victims

Bosniak Caucus asked for protection of vital national interest, giving no consent for ratification of contract between BiH and Croatia on cooperation in realizing rights of BiH war victims

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Pink By Zeljko Mandic- Bosniak Caucus in BiH House of Peoples started the issue of protection of vital national interest due to the agreement that BiH and Croatia signed on cooperation regarding protection of rights of war victims in BiH. This contract, signed on December 23, 2005 by BiH Minister of Security Barisa Colak and competent Croatian minister, should provide additional financial resources to HVO victims and their families from Croatian budget in order to make equal their compensations with compensations that are being paid in Croatia. Reporter said that all competent institutions agreed on this issue except Bosniak deputies in BiH HoP who believe that ratification of this agreement would endanger vital national interest of Bosniaks in BiH. Halid Genjac, Bosniak deputy in BiH HoP believes that this agreement is discriminating and that BiH should not sign it. Croatian deputies in BiH HoP objected request of Bosniaks. BHT1 by Vanja Filipovic – Bosniak representatives also claim that this contract violates the BiH Constitution, and that it would produce discrimination within certain categories of veterans’ populations in BiH. Hayat By Nebojsa Radulovic – Presenter stated that Croat caucus has warned that unless the agreement is adopted they will leave the BIH HoP. Serbs were ready to support the agreement only if it read that the HVO victims died in armed combat and not defending BIH. Bosniak delegates deem that giving consent for ratification of this contract will only mean new obligations, instead of help to invalid funds. He stressed once again that this is just first part of talks on constitutional changes, adding that US will keep on with pressure on all sides, since they want to create more functional state of BiH. He stressed that BiH has never got a better friend than USA, and promised that USA will never disappoint BiH people: “We will keep on making pressure for things we think that are good for this country.” McElhaney denied he promised help to some parties win elections if they sign agreement on constitutional changes. RTRS by Stela Jungic- RS National Assembly decided to discuss proposal of budget for this year on extraordinary session, which is to be held right after the regular session on March 16.  RSNA will discuss proposal of budget along with proposal of Law on budget implementation and proposal of changes and amendments of Law on RS budget system.
