Co-Chair of the CoM Haris Silajdzic received the former Austrian Foreign Minister Alois Mock and the Austrian Ambassador to the BiH. Mr. Silajdzic thanked Minister Mock on his efforts to help BiH. The collocutors underlined the importance of the democratic process with a special emphasis on the role of media in that process, said the report.

The announced meeting between BiH and Croatian delegations on the issue of the port Ploce has been postponed, said the report. The media featured a lengthy report underlining that Zagreb failed to respond to Sarajevo’s proposal.. Instead of an official response, Zagreb discreetly signalled that an answer would be forwarded in a few days. Croatian President Franjo Tudjman was reported to have announced that a proposal on agreement for special relations between Croatia and FBH would soon be made public, and within that agreement arrangements for the rental of the port Ploce. The report, however, highlighted that the Americans had come up with a new proposal for terms of rental of the port, known as “Annex 2”.

The OHR Regional office in Mostar has confirmed that Haans Van den Broek, EU Foreign Affairs Commissioner will arrive in Mostar tomorrow. During his two-day visit, Mr. Van den Broek will also visit Sarajevo and Banja Luka.
