Mostar – Renovation works of the Old Bridge in Mostar will begin tomorrow. The bridge arch will be pulled from the eight metres deep Neretva river bed. Hungarian and Spanish teams serving in Multi National Division North-East made a general rehearsal of the task. The Bridge – masterpiece of builder Hajrudin, has for four centuries resisted attacks of various armies and natural disasters until HVO extremists destroyed it in the year 1993 and knocked it down into the river. Still, Mostar residents, no matter of what their nationality are looking forward to seeing the Bridge in its old place again.

Srebrenica – The slow steps being taken to discover the truth about the eight thousand missing Srebrenica residents is worrying. 27 months have passed since the Srebrenica tragedy occurred and the mass graves of the Bosniaks killed in the unparalleled crime have still not been opened. Only the remains of 850 bodies, which represents 10 percent of the tragic amount of those missing from Srebrenica, have been recovered. Despite the DPA provisions which secure access to all mass graves, there is no real response for the talks on the issue in the Serb entity.

Banja Luka – The RS entity Parliamentary elections might be delayed until 23 November. Such a possibility was announced by RS President Biljana Plavsic in her interview broadcast from the studio in Banja Luka, last night. President Plavsic also tackled a number of facts related to the crimes in RS, the events which preceded the odd death of Nikola Koljevic, as she put it, etc. She explained that Koljevic was chosen as President of a Commission for halting crime in the SDS, but various pressures and threats, such as the breaking of his wife’s arm, stopped him even from beginning to deal with it. Plavsic informed that 49 million DEM were transferred to the account of Karadzic abroad from a Bank in Banja Luka on 11 March.

Doboj – Late last night again an explosive devise blew up in the office of the alternative newspaper Alternativa, whose owner publicly supported the RS entity President, recently. There were no casualties.

Sarajevo – Agency Bosna Link informed of a new game appearing on the computer video market under the name IF 22 which is produced by an American firm Interactive Magic. The topic of the new game is the time after the end of the UN Mission in BiH in the year 2002. The players have the possibility to pilot the newest fighter aircraft according to flying procedure which correspond completely to legal professional standards. Except that the game authors offered to the players a special challenge – bombing of the Serbs.

Sarajevo – Stephen Walker, an American diplomat who is protesting against American policy in BiH and who stepped out of office in State Department in 1993, is visiting Sarajevo. He later became one of the directors of the Institute for the Balkans and is visiting Sarajevo in this capacity. BiH TV showed part of the interview he gave to BiH TV. The whole interview consists of Walker’s estimations of the situation in BiH and will be broadcast in the next few days.
