Sarajevo – The BiH Presidency should finally meet tomorrow to discuss the problems with its work as well as to try and iron out differences in those questions for which the BiH CoM has not yet found a solution. Yet, it is still not certain whether Momcilo Krajisnik, Presidency member will attend the meeting or continue to obstruct this body’s work by unjustified not-attendance at the meetings. If he doesn’t come this time, it could be his last failure to attend a Presidency meeting, Duncan Bullivant, the OHR Spokesman told a press news today, presenting the legal opinion of the OHR relating to the work of the BiH Presidency. CoM meeting – also obstructed by the Serb Entity, was announced to be held tomorrow. The OHR has not offered any measures representing possible sanctions against the obstruction of this institution. Haris Silajdzic, CoM Co-Chair and Gerd Wagner, Deputy HR agreed today that a meeting should convene on Thursday, 10 September, followed by a pre-meeting among the two Co-Chairs and Ambassador Wagner. Silajdzic and Wagner also discussed other topics focusing on the Draft Laws and solutions of other open questions which demand an urgent solution.

Banja Luka – Only around 500 followers gathered at the SDS rally against the RS President Biljana Plavsic in Banja Luka. Before the rally began, Biljana Plavsic held a meeting with Momcilo Krajisnik, mediated by the Serb Patriarch Pavle. The media didn’t inform of any other details, but all agree that a meeting showing real support to Karadzic, might provoke violence. (Follows a survey of the media news relating to the issue: Plavsic mobilised 1.600 policemen aiming to halt the rally, the SDS leaders rejected UN and SFOR suggestions to hold the meeting at the city’s stadium instead of the middle of the town, SFOR issued permits for movement of the military carriers and fighting vehicles, etc.)

Bihac – Exhumation of the human remains of Bosniaks killed in this region during the war, continued on the mountain Hrgar. 59 bodies have now been unearthed, among them a body of a four year old girl. Explosive mines were used in this mine to try to cover up traces of the crime. Some of them – still unexploded – endangered the work of the experts at a depth of 57 metres. Sarajevo – In his closing speech at the Second SDA Congress which ended yesterday after midnight, Alija Izetbegovic, SDA President asked his followers to stick to the course which the party agreed at the Congress.

Sarajevo – A lengthy piece was broadcast on the very negative reactions of other parties’ representatives (Joint List and LBO) towards the SDA Congress saying (live) that the Congress was used for getting even with alternative and opposition parties instead of making announced changes in the own party.

Stup, near Sarajevo – At the Co-ordinating meeting of the Croatian people today, Croatian politicians asserted that the conditions have not been met for democratic and fair elections in BiH. This was confirmed by a statement issued by Presidency Member, Kresimir Zubak’s Office.
