The negotiations among the leaders of eleven Parliamentary parties in BiH on Police reform began on Vlasic this morning. Michael Humphreys, Head of the European Commission delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina, presented the three EU principles for Police reform to the participants.

The outcome of police reform negotiations among the main BiH political parties, scheduled to begin this Sunday, will “open up the future of BiH – or close it down,” the High Representative, Paddy Ashdown, said today in a speech to the RS National Assembly.

The High Representative, Paddy Ashdown, today met with the Heads of Clubs of the political parties represented in the FBiH Parliament. Discussion focused on Police Reform in light of the crucial upcoming negotiations on police restructuring to be held between 24 and 27 April.

Representatives of the Office of the High Representative (OHR), the EU Police Mission and the Police Restructuring Commission (PRC) attended a round table in Banja Luka today organised by the SNSD, as part of the political dialogue on police restructuring.

The EUPM and the OHR are satisfied with the results so far of the ongoing police restructuring road show. The public meetings have proven to be successful in explaining the benefits of police reform to the public of BiH and have seen good participation and lively discussions and debates.
