At a meeting in Brussels today, the Steering Board of the Peace Implementation Council (PIC) reviewed progress in implementing the General Framework Agreement for Peace (GFAP) since the last full meeting of the PIC in Madrid in December 1998

Meeting in Brussels on June 15 at the level of political directors, the Steering Board of the Peace Implementation Council expressed its deep concern about the lack of progress in the implementation of the Dayton Peace Agreement and the Madrid Conclusions.

The Political Directors of the Steering Board of the Peace Implementation Council decided at their meeting in Brussels that the final cut-off date for the recognition of ordinary passports of the former Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina will be 30 September 1999.

The Steering Board members unanimously deplore the car bombing in Sarajevo which resulted in serious injuries to the Federation Deputy Minister of Interior, Jozo Leutar, and two of his colleagues. Members extend their sympathies to the families of the victims and offer their best wishes for the full recovery of the injured.
