22 December marks the first anniversary of the Sejdic-Finci judgement by the European Court of Human Rights. This judgement established that provisions of the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina are in violation of the European Convention on Human Rights.

Ambassadors of the Peace Implementation Council Steering Board today reiterated the International Community’s strong support for the State Court of BiH and the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH. These institutions play an essential role in advancing rule of law in BiH. Recent events in the Una-Sana Canton show that no one can be above the law.

Political Directors of the Peace Implementation Council Steering Board (PIC SB) met in Sarajevo on 30 November - 1 December 2010. Members of the newly elected Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina participated in parts of the meeting, as did representatives of civil society organizations.
